A topical numbing cream is used to minimize pain and treatment of all areas is highly tolerable. *After your treatment, you may feel a mild sunburn-like sensation on your skin for 24 to 72 hours. The severity of redness, mild swelling and skin tightness post-treatment depends on the intensity of the treatment and the sensitivity of your skin.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)
PRP uses growth factors derived from your own blood to accelerate the skin's natural healing process. Benefits may include faster recovery, improved skin texture and tone, increased collagen production and enhanced overall rejuvenation.

Ariessence PDGF+
Ariessence PDGF+ is a pharmaceutical-grade growth factor treatment applied topically after microneedling. It helps support skin renewal, enhances collagen production, may reduce downtime and can improve overall skin quality, firmness and radiance.

Pre-Treatment

Before Your SkinPen® Treatment:

Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning for at least 1 week prior to treatment.
Discontinue retinoids (Retin-A®, tretinoin, adapalene) 3 to 5 days before treatment unless otherwise directed.
Avoid chemical peels, waxing, depilatory creams and other exfoliating treatments for 1 week before treatment.
Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and other blood-thinning supplements for 3 to 7 days prior to treatment if approved by your healthcare provider.
Arrive with clean skin free of makeup, lotions and sunscreen.
Notify your provider if you have an active cold sore, skin infection, rash or acne breakout in the treatment area.
Wait until your skin has fully healed from any recent cosmetic procedures before undergoing treatment.
Stay well hydrated before your appointment.

Procedure day

Procedure Day:

Arrive with clean skin free of makeup, lotion and sunscreen.
Photos may be taken before treatment to document your results.
A topical numbing cream will be applied to maximize comfort during the procedure.
The treatment typically takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area being treated.
Most patients describe the treatment as very tolerable with minimal discomfort.
You may experience redness and mild swelling immediately following treatment, similar to a mild sunburn.
Post-treatment products, such as exosomes, PRP or Ariessence PDGF+, may be applied to enhance healing and results.
You will receive detailed aftercare instructions before leaving the office.

Post-Treatment

After Your SkinPen® Treatment:

Expect redness similar to a mild sunburn for 24 to 72 hours after treatment.
Mild swelling, tightness, dryness and flaking are normal during the healing process.
Avoid direct sun exposure and wear SPF 30+ daily once approved by your provider.
Do not apply makeup for at least 24 hours following treatment.
Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sweating, hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms for 24 to 48 hours.
Use only gentle skincare products and follow your provider's post-treatment instructions.
Avoid retinoids, exfoliants and acids until your skin has fully recovered.
Keep your skin hydrated with the recommended moisturizer and drink plenty of water.
Do not pick, scratch or exfoliate peeling skin.
Contact your provider if you experience prolonged redness, significant swelling or signs of infection.
